Helen (Sandy) Jones Burger, 92, of Indpls, beloved wife of John Burger, went Home to be with the Lord, on April 29, 2013. She was born on November 7, 1920 to George and Effie Mae Jones in Avoca, IN. Helen graduated from Needmore High School and Indiana University. She was employed by Allison Division of GM Motors, followed by working for the US Navy in San Francisco, CA, while her husband was serving in the Pacific during WW2. They later moved to Indianapolis, settling in the Broad Ripple area. After John’s retirement, their winters were spent with friends in Indianapolis, Ft. Myers, and Destin, FL. These were some of Helen’s happiest times. She loved spending time with her two wonderful daughters, Cynthia Lee and Mary Lynn. Helen was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church and the Crossroad Guild. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, John; her daughter, Cynthia; grandchildren, JB (Tiffany) Evans, John David (Carly) Crowe, and Jennifer (Mike) Pitts; and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and daughter, Mary Lynn. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 3 at Indiana Funeral Care and Crematory, Harry W Moore Chapel. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time. Helen will be laid to rest at Washington Park North Cemetery. Donations can be made in her honor to the Humane Society.
